We profit from our many advantages to attract the public with our destinations and offers: sunny climate, quality of our environment and diversity of our landscapes, numerous activities for fans of sport and of the open air, cultural tourism with our local heritage monuments, wine and gastronomy tourism, many festivals all through the year and the famous Provencal lifestyle...  tourism is a vital economic sector for Vaucluse, charming both French and foreign visitors.

PLAYERS IN THE ACTIVITY

Vaucluse has two main players working to create value for the area as a tourist destination:

  • Our Tourism Development Agency (ADT) which structures and interfaces with tourism professionals
  • The Vaucluse Tourism Office (UDOTSI) which groups all the tourism offices and information agencies of our area.

Our wide range of activities and sightseeing possibilities give Vaucluse an irresistible attraction.

A cultural and historic national heritage :

  • 57 museums welcome more than 1.6 million visitors per year
  • 464 monuments and 81 protected sites: the Popes’ Palace, the Pont d’Avignon bridge, the Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct, Orange’s Roman Theater and Triumphal Arch, Sénanque Notre-Dame Abbey, the Carpentras Synagogue …

Varied landscapes :

  • Many Provencal villages, often perched on hilltops, and 7 of the Most Beautiful Villages in France are found in Vaucluse: Ansouis, Gordes, Lourmarin, Roussillon, Ménerbes, Séguret and Venasque.
